As entertaining as Ottawa's events have been today, my brain has become numb. Watching television coverage of the Lib gathering has done that. Despite the breathless commentary by the talking heads of CTV and CBC, I fear that I'm one of millions who have resigned themselves to the fact that we won't see the resignation we are hoping for any time soon.
Agreed, Ted. Frankly, my brain feels like mush at this point.
Also, I'm very much in the camp that we don't want his resignation, he should take it like a man at the polls. Still a chance we get that. But either way, this nightmare is kind-of, sort-of, almost over -- for now.
One other point. The near beatification of the former DPM by commentators makes me ill. Given how much the nation's financial situation has deteriorated on her watch, she deserves only scorn for her miserable performance as the minister of finance.
“That’s right, it’s business as usual, for now, for the self-heralded male feminist, who just slipped a knife into the back of another female cabinet minister who had the gall to tell him “No,” and who had allegedly become a liability in Trump tariff negotiations.
Not days ago, the same Justin Trudeau was lecturing the American electorate for not voting for a uniquely terrible candidate because she had an innie, not an outie.
Well Alex you've summarized things nicely. Now Canadians have to stomach more B.S. from the Lieberal unwashed and Singh's greed.
More hand-wringing and posturing from those groups is surely coming in the days and weeks ahead.
I see that the good folks of B.C. Cloverdale—Langley City voted 66.3% for the Conservatives in their by-election yesterday. However, voter turnout was only 16.27%.
Further to my comment last article about the mood in Mid-Western Ontario, I saw this homemade signage today in a local parking lot. The image is de-identified, and clean on my OneDrive.
A remarkably low turnout. Beyond voter burnout, low by-election numbers really show the diminishing impact of local media. Kind of a shame, I personally don't have an issue funding the town criers, it's when they're propping up a state messaging apparatus that they lose me. But that's good news for independents and third-party types like myself, I suppose.

An excellent essay. Here’s a teaser:

The mind, it reels…”
Thank you for the comment and the share, Tony! Appreciate the support.
