In any pursuit, quality over quantity has generally been viewed as the most successful strategy. Perhaps somebody is looking to increase the number appreciative voters for his/her/its party?

Partially, and eventually, on the PR-to-citizen pipeline, yes. It appears to have more to do with flooding the market with (some) skilled positions, cheap labour to mask government harm to the economy, and pockets to be bled dry by post-secondary institutions. That, and as a bull-headed and foolhardy response to the aging demographic challenges to come.

Whichever way you shake it, this needs to be a two-year Liberal fever dream.

All of those engineers and doctors out here driving Ubers and flipping Freightliners over in the ditch up in Northwestern Ontario would have been much better off staying home.

Indians now control over 50% of the trucking market in both Toronto and Vancouver, and truck accidents have been at their highest level ever.

And many of them aren’t exactly here of their own volition -

This article is almost 5 years old now and wouldn’t you know it, Shiny Hair Rainbow Socks has done fuck all about it.

Thanks for this Gord. I've heard some fascinating horror stories from a neighbour in the industry on missed safety signals, horrendous driving, and organized crime.

Hard to believe government is cutting corners on 80,000 pounds travelling at 120 km/h.

Nevermind, no it isn't.

The industry has been operating on a massive lie about a ‘driver shortage’ for decades now, and that lie has been used by various groups to accomplish certain goals.

The identity politics crowd have used it to handwave away concerns about road safety and the low barriers to entry in getting a license, or to put more ‘Women behind the wheel.’

Noticing that all of these things run in tandem with horrific results on the roads is a cancellable offense.

I’m writing more on this issue for a think tank in DC (which is why my output here has been low as of late) but here’s the short version -

Let it roar - it is unstoppable under the Liberals. They will destroy themselves with it in two years. And immigration will not only be cut down, it will be stopped and deportations will begin. The entire west is turning sharply against this. It is wrong, and, frankly evil. We are gutting developing nations of their talent. Destroying villages, families and ALL the diverse cultures of the earth

Thanks for the note, Elizabeth. They certainly are destined to go down with this ship -- but I'm also conscious of the importance of drawing a reluctant CPC into the fold. They're staying buttoned up on sky-rocketing numbers for a reason, obviously, they're trying to win diaspora votes. But it's in everyone's best interest that they commit to pulling an Australia in due course.

It's a terrible shame what these insane numbers are doing to not just Western countries, but even our immigration consensus. We want to be welcoming to kind families, and the world's best and brightest. The risk of full-scale resentment towards the program is real.

Yeah I think they should stay home and fix their own countries. And the CPC doesn’t want to give the Liberals ammunition, they have them on the run on the economy and carbon taxes. I get that caution. The anti immigration feeling is just rising now, and the more chaos the better. (But I repeat myself). People must lead our representatives from now on and that means their waking up and to do that means more chaos and misery. It will happen Alexander. Pushing the river means more technocratic rule.

Well done Alexander. However, I believe you're preaching to the choir and the actual message will fall on the deaf ears of those who need to hear it most.

Trudeau's Lieberals are hell bent on importing enough voters to keep them in power; or, at least try to.

A fair assessment, Peter, but the more that can be done to draw the conversation into the mainstream the better. Let it become an election issue.
