Every circus needs a carney. This latest gig for the roaming consultant will please his masters on the shore of Lake Geneva. Although highly predictable, it will be interesting to see what priorities his "Task Force on Economic Growth" comes up with.
Need to outsource my puns to you, Ted. (Beats hiring a TFW!)
Yeah, I think we can all expect the worst, with all kinds of deliverology-laden gobbledygook that delivers anything but results for people who need to be helped-to-death less.
That's very generous of you Peter. But hey, I thought my last two weren't so bad either... lol.
As my work pal Spencer Fernando just wrote (and I just edited), Carney should be a non-starter because he's just more of the same. They don't have a spokesperson problem, they have a pesky lived reality, this-really-sucks problem: https://www.nationalcitizens.ca/fernando_carney_cant_save_liberals
You are so clearly back from summer, Alex. Link selection (first time I read that excellent Peter Foster piece, for e.g.), framing with Nanaimo, evidentiary body count. Not the least, your comic timing: "who makes failed Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, famously stiff as a board, come across like 80’s Eddie Murphy in comparison."
Many congrats on it, also to you and the missus on your upcoming nuptials.
That's awfully kind of you, Jodi! I am indeed back on the grind, with my brain somewhat re-raveled. Runs in the woods and weekend hikes help. The stimulus-response loop can take a toll in my line of work, as I'm sure it does yours.
Love your writing and thankful for your support and #cdnpoli friendship.
Thanks for the shout-out, and this is a great read. Succinct but informative (and amusing) introduction to this Carney character in the illiberal play. And the government is handing out Dilaudid? That's super. To my knowledge, meds like that are ones people with workplace injuries have to fight to get, or had to.
When an esteemed member of Team Reality throws up the bat signal, who am I to not toss aside lesser tasks and get down to it.
And yeah, Dilaudid is part of the program. As many as 30 pills a day from a case study I read recently. You'll be shocked to learn that all subjects didn't reform their behaviours whatsoever. Super indeed.

Appreciate the insights!
Welcome back Alex... You are indeed rejuvenated. This article cooks.
The knives from the RoC will surely be unsheathed if Sock Boy goes after the Bloc. That alone would hasten Canada's demise.
Legault might be the only premier sucking up to a Bloc overture.
Carney will be a non-starter. No one(except Lieberals) will listen to him.
Cheers.

Will try to stay as rejuvenated as I can!

Why thank you, Alex Brown, and back at you. So glad you had some down time to re-ravel.

My pleasure, good sir. Ask and ye shall.
