WATCH: 'We have no choice but to continue to do the work'
Join myself and Cory Morgan for an election debrief.
It’s a version of the result that no one wanted, but it comes as no great surprise — and it could have been worse.
Backed by the worst possible luck, timing, and external (and internal) interference, Canada’s much-needed change election has been pushed off while millions rally around a flag they lowered, ignored, even desecrated for the past few years.
You’ve been hearing from me a lot lately, and I can admit to being disappointed with the result. In the end, I helped reach, give or take, ten million prospective voters on their phones, smart TVs, and in their cars; and while guys like me helped influence the best election turnout in 31 years, and perhaps some positive voting trends among younger voters, we still struggled to breakthrough against the rally around the flag effect, comical NDP collapse, and some “elbows up” mass psychosis.
I’ll likely be taking a week off here if you don’t mind, while I work on third-party debriefs and plans for the future. Before I leave you with this guest spot with Cory Morgan, your financial and/or moral support has meant very much to me, and I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to better help drag this across the finish line for you and yours.
Win, lose, or draw, I look forward to continuing to write and advocate on your behalf, and on behalf of the countless Canadians who deserve better than what this has been turned into.
The work continues.
