When Canadians hate
Far-left Western activists have tied themselves into knots in defence of the indefensible. The limits to their 'luxury beliefs' are about to be tested like never before.
It has been quite the week for challenges to ‘luxury beliefs.’
Progressive, ‘anti-colonial,’ anarcho ‘abolish prison’ activists (repeatedly) murdered; the drug and disorder capital of Canada moving to almost, sort-of ban illicit hard drug use and degeneration in public; a global migrant crisis testing the very limits of Blue State progressives who were fine with thousands of military-aged males arriving in Texas, but less so when they were camped out on the front stoop of their favourite West Village brunch spot; and now, the barbaric targeting of thousands of Israeli civilians — primarily, it seems, women and children.
In Canada, the struggle session in response has been predictably abominable.
As heinous cellphone videos revealed to the world the capture, gang rape, and continued brutalization of Israeli women, and even foreign music festival attendees (attendees of a music festival for peace, no less), Canada’s far-left has found itself tied into a Meereeneese knot of its own making.
To say the nation’s fledgling Liberal-NDP coalition has an anti-Semitism problem would be an understatement. Even with the Liberals already being caught awarding generous ‘anti-racist’ contracts to a deep bench of extremely racist ‘anti-hate’ hustlers and snake-oil salesmen (and women), the rot runs deeper within the New Democrats, eugenicist Tommy Douglas’s one-time party of worker’s rights, now staffed by those who have shared memes of Hitler online, championed Nazi naval officers, and who have been active backers of “boycott, divest and sanction,” and “from the river to the sea.”
And lest we forget the Nazi clapping of just two weeks ago…
Oh, Canada: Parliament salutes a Nazi
Toronto’s NDP mayor Olivia Chow engaged in her very own Six-Day War against herself, repeatedly posting and back-tracking to better meet the demands of her Jew-hating staffers and constituents.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees, Canada’s largest union, and a fervent million-dollar campaigner for the Liberals and NDP come election time, outright celebrated the slaughter of children, and the sexual mutilation and Mogadishu-ification of the bodies of young women.
And then came Fred Hahn, CUPE Ontario president, (pictured above, in all his neckless, TLC sex-tourist doppelganger glory), recent campaigner against the rights of Canadian parents in the classroom, who spent the day liking and ‘reposting’ supposedly nuanced takes from a group of Westerners presently making excuses for the side that’s savaging the corpses of innocents.
"They shot people in cars and at bus stops, they rounded up women and children into rooms like Einsatzgruppen and machine-gunned them. They went house to house to find and murder civilians hiding in their closets, and they dragged the bloody, dead bodies of Israelis back into Gaza where they are now being paraded, beaten, and mutilated in front of exultant crowds. One young Israeli woman was murdered and stripped to her underwear, and her corpse was thrown in the back of a pickup truck so it could be paraded around Gaza while young Hamas men beat and mutilated her body." If yesterday was Israel’s 9/11, it’s clear this Liberal world is ill-equipped to help sift through the rubble. (Heck, they likely helped finance this whole enterprise via Biden’s $6 billion ransom payment to Iran.)
Elect student union activists, with hatred and moral detachment birthed and incubated inside institutions likely celebrating like it’s frosh week, and their prejudice towards a rigid, angry, victimhood-focused ideology was always going to win the day over scenes of human indecency and tribal bloodlust writ large.
In many ways that’s what they were already doing, as the fentanyl-poisoned bodies piled up in Canadian and American streets, and “fiery but mostly peaceful” scenes of entropy spread like Fred Hahn’s smile at the sight of some dastardly ‘colonizer’ child being whisked away to the friendly confines of a ‘liberated’ Hamas black site, where his ‘brothers and sisters’ are *definitely* flying that updated iridescent flag, and where they have *certainly* kept up with every letter, number, and symbol within that now ludicrously-expanded acronym. (And where they’re *undoubtedly* on their best behaviour as ‘babysitters.’)
We are witnessing the maximal extension — and failure — of luxury-held beliefs in real-time. When real war — not imagined culture war — comes calling, it’s supposed to be time for ostensibly hyper-caring individuals to flinch at inhumanity, at the Vikings landing at Lindisfarne, at the Rape of Nanking.
That they haven’t perhaps betrays another dynamic entirely. They’re not tweeting and deleting and contorting themselves into the kinds of positions now reserved for the bodies of Israeli women in the backs of Toyota Land Cruisers because they hold such rigid ‘post-colonial’ beliefs, it’s because they’re scared of the dog of war they helped let slip.
Unlike the right’s recent dance with a few unsavoury characters — that, thankfully, only led to a few arrests, media hoaxes, some hurt feelings, phantom honks, and weeks of clean sidewalks in Ottawa — the far-left we have come to know and loathe have picked one hell of a partner this time around.
Those like the ‘tired and emotional’ Elizabeth May, who remain drunk on champagne-socialism, may very well “take their marching orders from the permanent representative of Palestine to Canada,” but with the weeks of devastation to come, they’re in for one hell of a hangover.
One can be wholly anti-war, understanding of oppressive dynamics and complex, centuries-long blood feuds, and deeply wary of the military-industrial complex, and still draw the line at on-purpose dead women and children.
For the folks who have spent their careers supposedly “fighting against hate,” they’re about to realize they may very well have picked the wrong side.
The self-anointed high priests of righteousness, who crave to be seen as respectable supporters of human rights, never criticize brutal animal-like behaviour when the victims are innocent Israelis. This shouldn't surprise anyone, as they act in a similarly hypocritical manner when it comes to their climate, economic, sexual and social crusades.
Succinct and to the point Alexander. I'm not a religious person, spiritual yes but, not religious.
However, this phrase from Galations IV came to mind when reading your article... "as you sow, so shall you reap".
And one more... Hosea 8:7 "sow the wind, (and) reap the whirlwind".
These the 'left' have done, in spades, for many years. A reckoning is coming. One can almost feel it.
